Who We Are

The purpose of Beacon Int’l Baptist Mission (BIBM) is to serve local churches and their missionaries as they endeavor to fulfill the Great Commission.

Founded by Dr. Jerry Mullendore in 1995 as Evangelization in Eastern Europe (EEE) and expanded in 2006 to serve missionaries world-wide, BIBM is now led by missionary Adam Crabtree. It continues to work in the Balkans and in many other fields across the globe.

BIBM does not replace the role of the sending church or the sending pastor. The sending church has the only authority to ordain, commission, guide, and discipline. BIBM simply exists to serve both the sending church and their missionaries.

Whether a missionary requirement calls for processing financial support, arranging a missions trip, constructing or renovating facilities, organizing youth camps, hosting Bible conferences or institutes, or providing ongoing missionary care, BIBM stands ready to offer assistance.

Connecting Those Who Give With Those Who Go

In today’s hectic environment, pastors often struggle to maintain a sufficient framework of fiscal and ministerial accountability with their missionaries who are stationed abroad. Keeping abreast of the affairs of local governments overseas presents an even greater challenge.

BIBM functions as the crucial LINK that connects the sending church, the missionary family, and their supporting churches, particularly offering invaluable assistance during times of turbulence.

When a missionary family and their local church partner with BIBM, they are adequately equipped for deputation, relocation to their mission field, language study, cultural adaptation, evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and training the next generation for ministry, so the work continues in perpetuity. Furthermore, our office assits with every aspect of a productive furlough.

BIBM operates under the authority of Eastside Baptist Church, located in Greeneville, Tennessee. The Crabtree family belongs to this flourishing, growing church. Why BIBM?

Founded upon the biblical paradigm of missions, BIBM furnishes the necessary support for each missionary family, pastor, and church to maintain communication and responsibility.

Financial: The location of BIBM’s office is in Johnson City, Tennessee. The Mullendore Missions Headquarters offers substantial advantages to the sending church, supporting church, and missionary family. BIBM maintains a comprehensive system for monitoring monthly financial contributions, furnishing monthly financial statements of giving, reimbursing missionary expenses during fieldwork or deputation, and transferring funds to missionaries for living and project-related purposes. This is accomplished while maintaining accurate financial records in order to report all missionary earnings to the IRS and pay taxes for the missionary family. BIBM maximizes the potential for the missionary and the church to exercise judicious stewardship over the provision of the Lord.
Ministry: Missionary Adam Crabtree, who serves as the Executive Director of BIBM, ensures uninterrupted communication with the missionary families. His vision is for each pastor to participate in his missionary’s church planting efforts and for the missionary’s fruit to be shared with the sending church. BIBM does not substitute for the authority of the sending church or the responsibility of the sending pastor. The authority to decide on all aspects of ministry, such as discipline and direction, is vested in the local church. The director has the capacity to provide assistance to both the pastor and the missionary. His years of domestic and international experience make him a valuable asset. BIBM retains the prerogative to sever fellowship with a missionary who violates ministry policies and procedures or doctrinally diverges from the organization.
Government: BIBM alleviates the local church of its financial burden. The office staff ensures that the allocated funds are held accountable. BIBM remains updated on local news from around the world in order to serve the missionary family more effectively. Amidst periods of instability, the director and his family served in Greece; therefore, he is cognizant of the critical nature of maintaining communication in such circumstances. Ensuring safety is the foremost consideration in BIBM. Wire transfers, exchange rates, residency/missionary visas, missions trips, furloughs, and the shipment of ministry supplies are all potential sources of complications. With its vast expertise and experience, the BIBM office is able to provide assistance to every missionary family, irrespective of their specific area of service.

Brief History (1995-Present)

Dr. Jerry Mullendore founded Evangelization in Eastern Europe in 1995. EEE functioned as a mission organization whose exclusive focus was on the Eastern European Balkan countries. God bestowed numerous blessings on EEE. Families of missionaries were dispatched to Albania, Macedonia, Romania, and Greece. Dr. Mullendore successfully obtained an open-ended registration for the Macedonian ministry, which remains valid for entry into the country at present. Despite the passage of time, this well-established mission work continues to function under the guidance of a national family based in North Macedonia. We are ecstatic to see how God’s hand remains on that ministry.

As more missionaries partnered with EEE and the mission expanded, the church office could no longer accommodate everything required for the daily operations of the organization. Spring 2002 marked the ministry’s authorization to acquire a building situated in Johnson City, Tennessee, through the grace of the Lord. After the purchase was finalized, renovations commenced without delay. Converting an abandoned gas station and convenience store into a functional mission office required considerable effort. The official dedication of the structure occurred in July 2003. The new office building featured three offices, a large conference room, an abundance of storage space, and a two-bedroom apartment. This is an extraordinary gift from God.

The Advisory Council voted unanimously in 2006, under the direction of Dr. Mullendore, to expand the ministry of EEE to include missionaries called to serve beyond Eastern Europe. This growth necessitated a name change. At that time, the organization known as Evangelization in Eastern Europe was renamed Beacon International Baptist Mission. BIBM continues to be showered with God’s grace. BIBM has witnessed significant international expansion beyond Eastern Europe.

In November 2016, the Lord called Dr. Mullendore home. As of January 2017, missionary Adam Crabtree assumed the role of Executive Director, succeeding the late Dr. Mullendore. The BIBM missionary family continues to expand globally under his direction.

In commemoration of the endeavors and selflessness of Dr. Jerry and Christine Mullendore, the mission office was formally named the “Mullendore Missions Headquarters” in July 2018, marking the 15th anniversary of the initial building dedication.

Meet The Crabtree Family

At the age of 14, Adam accepted Christ as his Savior while attending church camp in Miamisburg, Ohio. Two years later, he answered the call to preach and became highly engaged in his local congregation, Grace Baptist Church in New Castle, Indiana. Two weeks before the start of his senior year of high school, he answered the call to missions. He enjoys playing golf, reading, spending time with his family, playing fantasy football, traveling, indulging in diverse cultural foods, and drinking coffee. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Missions & Bible, a Master of Theology degree, and is currently completing a Doctor of Theology degree. You can email him at AdamNCrabtree@Gmail.com.

Brandie accepted Christ as her Savior as a teenager at Eastside Baptist Church in Greeneville, Tennessee. After a Wednesday night youth service, her dad, Dr. Jerry Mullendore, led her to Jesus. She is a “PK” and has spent most of her life in ministry. In the autumn of 1997, Brandie surrendered her life to full-time missions. She enjoys reading, traveling, teaching, shopping, cooking, and spending time with her family. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Adam and Brandie were married on August 5, 1999. Their three daughters, Emily, Adalyn, and Abigail, were born in Athens, Greece. All three have accepted Christ as their Savior and are actively engaged in the ministry.

The Crabtree family has been engaged in full-time missions with BIBM since June, 2001. After deputation, they spent five years serving in Piraeus, Greece, and nearly nine years in Queens, New York, before moving to Johnson City, Tennessee, in 2017 to assume the role previously held by the late Dr. Jerry Mullendore.

The Crabtrees now lead the global ministry of BIBM. They provide extensive support and assistance to BIBM missionary families across various aspects of mission work.

Their responsibilities include preaching missions conferences, representing BIBM, mentoring missionaries, evangelism, discipleship, church planting, managing Beacon Bible Institute, facilitating “Deputation Training for Excellence,” providing ongoing care for current missionaries, recruiting new missionary families, exploring potential mission fields, providing furlough relief, and overseeing daily office operations.

Through their multifaceted involvement, the Crabtrees play a pivotal role in fostering the growth and effectiveness of BIBM’s mission endeavors worldwide.

The Crabtree family is available to participate in missions conferences, missions emphasis days, mission trips, revivals, local church meetings, small group gatherings, school projects, chapel services, and any other missions related events.

What We Believe

BIBM is an independent Baptist, unaffiliated with any denomination by conviction, international mission agency that operates under the authority of a local church. An independent Baptist church commissions each missionary, and it is their responsibility to seek out support from other churches of like faith and practice.

The following paragraphs simply summarize what we believe. We believe the Bible and teach it to be perfectly true. Every belief flows from God’s Word.

The Bible

We believe the Bible to be the revealed Word of God, fully and verbally inspired of God. We believe the Scriptures to be the inerrant, infallible Word of God, as found within the sixty-six books from Genesis to Revelation. We believe God not only inspired every word but has preserved them through the ages. We believe the King James Version is the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people. For other languages, we accept and use translations of the Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) (Psalm 12:6-7; II Timothy 3:15-17; I Peter 1:23-25; II Peter 1:19-21).

God

We believe in one God, who is eternal, self-existent, infinite, and immutable. We believe He has one nature, one essence, and one substance, yet manifests Himself to man in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; I Timothy 1:17; James 1:17; I John 4:4).

Son

We believe Jesus Christ to be the one and only Saviour of mankind. We believe Jesus Christ to be eternally God and to possess all the attributes of Deity. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was virgin born, that He was God incarnate, and that the purposes of the incarnation were to reveal God, to redeem men, and to rule over God’s kingdom. We believe Jesus Christ never relinquished any attributes of His Deity, but merely veiled them. We believe He lived a perfect, sinless life, at the end of which He was offered for all mankind as a substitutionary sacrifice for man’s sin. This sacrifice was a just payment to God for the forgiveness of sin. It was activated by His death through the shedding of His blood on the Cross and was accepted by God upon His resurrection. We believe He ascended into Heaven after His resurrection to be seated at the right hand of the Father, waiting for the time of receiving His church at the Rapture, and returning seven years later to earth to rule and reign as King for 1,000 years (Psalm 2:7-9; Isaiah 7:14,9:6,43:11; Micah 5:2; Matthew 1:25; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:1,1:3,14,18,29; Romans 3:19-25; Romans 5:6-15; Philippians 2:5-11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; I Timothy 2:5; I Timothy 3:16; Titus 2:10-15; Hebrews 7:26,9:24-28; I Peter 1:19,2:2; I John 1:3; Revelation 20:1-6).

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit of God is a person who has personality and all the attributes of Deity. We believe the Holy Spirit has always been involved in the affairs of mankind. However, we believe He has a special ministry which began at Pentecost and will continue until the Rapture. This ministry includes convicting the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The Holy Spirit was also sent to regenerate, sanctify, seal, and fill all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:5-6; John 14:16; Acts 1:5; Acts 11:15; I Corinthians 3:16; I Corinthians 6:19-20; I Corinthians 12:13).

Sin and Salvation

We believe all men were born with an inherited sin nature received from our common ancestor, Adam. We believe that because of his nature, man is a sinner by choice, and he is totally incapable of reforming himself or ceasing from his sin by his own power. We believe the only hope of deliverance for man is a total change of mind concerning his sinful condition and inability to change it, and a turning to Jesus Christ as the only Saviour. We believe that only through the substitutionary sacrifice of Christ on the Cross can a man be delivered from his sin. We believe that all those who reject Jesus Christ as their Saviour are already condemned to an eternity in the Lake of Fire (Genesis 5:1-5; Acts 4:19; Acts 16:31; Romans 3:10-23; Romans 5:6-12; Romans 6:23; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-6; Revelation 20:11-14).

The New Testament Church

We believe the church began with the calling out of the twelve apostles by Jesus Christ and was empowered on the day of Pentecost. We believe the local church is God’s only institution to carry out His work today. We believe the local church is composed of members who have been saved and baptized, according to the command of Christ, and have voluntarily united together for the purposes of worship, fellowship, service, and the Lord’s Table. We believe all true believers will be taken up at the Rapture, just prior to the Tribulation (Matthew 16:16-18; Acts 1:15; Acts 2:41-43; Acts 11:15; Acts 20:28; I Corinthians 15: 51-58; Ephesians 1:12-14; Ephesians 5:25-30; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; I Timothy 3:4-15).

The Last Days

We believe in the literal interpretation of the Scriptures in their grammatical and historical context. We believe in the pre-tribulational Rapture of the church saints, followed by the seven-year Tribulation. We believe in the pre-millennial return of Christ to the earth and His literal rule of one thousand years. Following this one thousand years is the Great White Throne judgment and then the new Heaven and new earth (I Corinthians 15:51-58; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; I Thessalonians 5:1-9; Revelation 19-22).

Our Missionary Family

The donations of God’s people support His work in missions. No BIBM missionary family receives a salary from the agency. Each missionary family receives financial support from independent Baptist congregations worldwide and lives by faith, which is placed in God, who supplies all our needs “according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
